Preliminary Programme

We want to welcome all participating groups and www-surfers who are interested in the 36th Salland Festival.

The headlines of the program are:

Wednesday June 20th

-          all groups will be present in Raalte and accommodated at guestfamilies

-          some of the groups (who arrived earlier) will have performances at homes for the elderly or schools

-          in the evening (20.00 hours) there will be a meeting with the groupleaders, hostesses and our committee

Thursday June 21st

-          during the morning and early afternoon the groups will have performances at homes for the elderly in our region.

-          in the festival-tent there will be a programme for senior citizens from 09.30 till 12.30 hours. Some groups will give a short performance and some groups will dance with the senior dancers

-          in the afternoon there is a performance in the festival-tent

-          in the afternoon (16.30 hours) there will be a reception by the board of mayor and aldermen of our municipality

-          in the evening (20.30 hours) there is a welcome party for all groupmembers and guestfamilies

Friday June 22nd

-          during the morning and afternoon the groups will have performances at homes for the elderly  in the region

-          one of the groups will visit a secondary school

-          one of the groups will go to a primary school

-          in the evening the official start of our festival by the mayor and then the first performances of some of the participating groups on the stage of our festival-tent. Afterwards there is a dance.

-          some of the groups have performances in the region

Saturday June 23rd

-          a day full of folklore in Raalte, with shows of the participating groups in our town and round the festivaltent from 10.30 till 17.00 hours

-          some of the groups will teach dances of their country to our visitors

-          in the afternoon a big parade with all groups and Dutch guestgroups for the Saturday

-          the musicians of all participating groups will play together at 16.30 hours

-          in the evening (20.00 hours) the Gala-show with all groups

Sunday June 24th

-          oecumenical service at 10.30 hours inSt. Paul’s Church with all participating groups

-          in the afternoon (14.00 hours) the last performance of all groups for an audience in the festivaltent

-          after the Matinee-show all groupmembers and hostfamilies will go to the swimming pool at 18.00 hours reserved only for festivalparticipants

-          the evening will be spend with the hostfamilies

Monday June 25th

-          during the morning and afternoon the groups will have performances on stage, at schools and at homes for the elderly in the region.

-          In the evening (20.30 hours) we have the farewell party for the groups and hostfamilies

Tuesday June 26th

-          the groups will go to their home towns or travel further to other festivals

-          we will start organising the festival for 2013

Below you will find some information for participating groups

-          during the performances on stage and homes for the elderly you can give a show. Mostly these shows will last between 10 minutes and one and a half hour. You can find the performance-time in your programme.

-          When your group has to visit schools or when children come to the festival tent your shows will have to change. These shows are not on stage. Within 1 hour you will have to make a programme in which you will dance several times with the children and show them some dances. These shows will be hosted by a member of our committee. He will dependent on the ages of the children or kind of school ask you to dance with the kids, make a show, tell something about your group, play a game or something else.
